When you are auditioning (and indeed in life in general) it is so important to be friendly and cheerful and let the best aspects of your personality shine through. You want to be the sort of person people want to work with and be around. Yes, auditioning is a form of competition, but you mustn't treat it that way. You'll do much better if you go in with the attitude that this is all a fun game you've come to play, and you'll be less nervous and probably do better too.
